Committees

The WEA Constitution outlines the need for creating committees from the membership of the Association in article IX. The following committees are great ways to get involved in an area of our union that you are passionate about!

Legislative and Research Committee
The Legislative and Research Committee’s main work focuses around aiding the Board in drafting constitutional amendments for consideration of the general membership, and reviewing the constitution and resolutions periodically to insure that they are up to date. They shall also have a broad concern for local, state, and national legislations affecting the interest of schools, teachers, and the Association; encouraging members to exercise their civil and political rights and keep them informed about new legislation. This committee also helps obtain the latest contract information and trends for the Negotiating Team.
